BlackBox keeps your storage clean by auto-deleting old recordings after a rolling window of about 30 days. That's great for tidiness — but what about the recordings you want to keep *forever*? That's exactly what auto-export is for: it saves finished archives to your own folder automatically, so nothing important is ever caught by the cleanup.

How the two features work together

Think of it as a tidy pipeline:

1. You record your days; each completed day is auto-archived and compressed.
2. Auto-export copies those finished archives to a folder *you* choose.
3. After ~30 days, on-device audio is auto-cleaned to keep storage flat.
4. Because your archives were already exported, the keepers live on safely in your folder.

Storage stays clean and nothing valuable is lost. You get the best of both.

How to turn on auto-export

In BlackBox:

1. Open Settings → Cloud archive backup.
2. Turn on Save archives automatically.
3. Pick your folder — an iOS Files location, or an Android folder. On Android you can choose Google Drive or OneDrive where available.
4. That's it. Completed archives now save to your folder on their own — no manual exporting.
