If it listens: a microphone conflict
Phones generally allow one active capture session at a time. Dictation takes the input, the recorder's session is interrupted, and you may need to start recording again afterwards. Nothing is broken — this is how the platform allocates the microphone.
Practical approach:
- Finish the dictation, then go back to the recorder and confirm its status.
- For anything you can't repeat, don't dictate mid-session — type instead.

If it only speaks: look elsewhere
